In this submission, first, on the left side of the board ( for white) their is a pawn race, you can promote your pawns to amazons(and hopefully grasshoppers and wildebeests, I forgot to add that part to the actual submission) which can cause immense damage to your opponent,(this area is also a great place to launch attacks on your opponent's royal king if they get overrun) And, they are also Upgraded pawns that can capture and move Up and diagonally, and, they can move two squares(though they can not capture with their two squares move) ALL the time making for fast races, in order to win on that side though, you may have to invest a ton of pieces just to break through,(you can also use a central pawn and sneak it in, very damaging, so beware of getting distracted on that side, you also have a lot of king of the hill squares, make sure to block them with ducks, however, you at the start have two kings to guard the squares(they may not last too long) remember, only the king with the symbol can win by getting king of the hill, there are only three types of pieces( all fairy) that exist other than the before mentioned pawns and of course king. PIECE STATS: grasshoppers are very useful, they are queens that leap over one piece( or the void) and they can be VERY tricky, the wildebeests are just knights but they can also move a extra square up,(quite mobile, but possibly the weakest piece other than the pawns and maybe the kings(non royal of course) and the amazon(will show as a queen knight) move like a queen and knight( also very powerful but can only dominate one sector at a time) Finally, if you look at the board, do you see those two kings of your color next to your opponents pieces? those are your guards, they are easy to capture but if you don't do that, they can easily trade for one of your grasshoppers, which would be horrible and equivalent to a piece loss.(they also hinder your king of the hill efforts and can also excort pieces down your throat, don't think they are light work taking out, the hills and ducks prove to be more than adequate for shielding)It is not recommended playing this with fast time controls, mainly duck chess takes forever to do in time scrambles. Why is this called jumpers on the hills? Because every piece jumps over pieces, and king of the hill is there. There are every interesting situations you can get into, and don't rely on the duck if there are tons of grasshoppers as they can be obstructed in the blink of the eye. Why should you play this? If you want a good challenge with grasshoppers, and tactics that are quite hard to see. Its quite fun if it gets tactical!

(their is so much strategy to this game, such as filling the hill with your non royal kings, which can help hinder your opponent invading the hill, it is practically impossible to fill this with every strategy you can do, but this is what I have discovered so far!)

PS: I forgot to add the extra part where you can promote to wildebeest and grasshopper,(its quite lopsided only promoting to amazon, also grasshoppers can be very unforgiving if you promote to them, as on the last rank(if the opponents king is there of course) they can pretty much be "checkmated", this adds tons of more strategy) I should have added that in the official submission, but I do think that that is a superior way than the only promote to amazon it is currently in, if you accept this, please consider adding that part.

plus 13 are just pawns mostly

so that means only 12 pieces you will use other than maybe a few pawns

btw, I not think there are TOO much pieces, there are(for each side) Four grasshoppers, Three Kings, Three Amazons, two wieldabeasts, and 13 sergents, add them up you get 25 pieces each player, equals 50 pieces plus ducks
