This variant is played on an 8 × 10 board and uses 4 fairy pieces: the sergeant, nightrider, archbishop (called fox in this variant) and chancellor (called wolf in this variant).

note that I did not invent this variant but would like to see it come to Chess.com and have made two minor alteration to fit the restrictions of Chess.com's variant creator that being in the original variant pawns and only pawns could promote to an elephant (a combination of a queen and nightrider) but in this version both pawns and sergeants can instead promote to an Amazon.

Additional information can be found on this variant's Wikipedia page

Generally, direct ports of historical variants are not enough to get a variant accepted. These are usually added only by chess.com itself as classic variants. We do, however, encourage you to use this historical variant as a template for your own variant and accentuate and expand upon it’s gameplay in a way that makes the game more interesting in today’s acceptance standards. I recommend checking out: Qiang-Xiangqi, General of the Hill, and Warui-Shogi. These are all examples of historical variants with an interesting twist. Good luck on your variant creation journey!
